What is Empower KM?
Empower KM is a practitioner-driven knowledge management (KM) conference that brings together KM professionals, emerging leaders, and peers from adjacent fields to share real-world practices, amplify diverse voices, and build community around knowledge sharing and human-centered KM approaches.
Who should attend?
The conference welcomes a range of people passionate about KM — including practitioners at all levels, change agents, knowledge leaders, and those working in related disciplines who want to connect, learn, and contribute to the KM community.
How do I register?
Registration is available through the conference website. You can choose in-person or virtual access when you register.
What are the registration fees?
Super Early Bird through July 1: $350
Early Bird July 2 through December 31: $400
Regular January 1 through February 11: $600
February 12 through the event: $700
Global Virtual Session (February 16, 2027): $55 through December 31, 2026 and $75 starting January 1, 2027
Do fees include meals or accommodations?
Registration includes full access to conference sessions, lunch each day, and coffee, tea, and snacks during the event on Wednesday & Thursday. If you have dietary restrictions, please reach out to team@empowerKM.com.
Travel and accommodations are not included and should be arranged separately by attendees. We have partnered with Hampton Inn Charleston – Daniel Island for a group rate, however, the cost is still the responsibility of the attendee.
What topics are covered at the conference?
Sessions focus on themes like Amplifying Voices, Evolving Knowledge Sharing, and Connecting Community — with talks, panels, interactive workshops, and open discussions led by practitioners and thought leaders
What formats can I expect?
Expect a mix of keynote presentations, interactive workshops, open conversations, and peer exchange sessions designed for inclusive engagement and practical learning.
Is this event suitable for first-time KM conference attendees?
Absolutely — the conference is intentionally designed to be approachable for both first-timers and seasoned KM professionals.
Will there be social events during the conference?
Yes. Empower KM will host optional social events throughout the week to give attendees additional opportunities to connect and unwind.
How do I sign up for the social events?
Social events can be selected during registration on the conference registration page…but not yet! Keep an eye out!

How will I join virtual sessions?
We will give all participants information about this closer to the event – we promise!
Do in-person attendees need to pay extra to attend the virtual day?
No. In-person registration includes access to the virtual sessions on Thursday at no additional cost. In-person attendees may join virtually from their own device or from the designated on-site room using their own device with headphones.
Will sessions be recorded?
Yes. Recordings of sessions will be available to registered attendees after the conference.

Where can I find my session time and format?
All session times are listed on the conference agenda. Please refer to the agenda page for the most up-to-date information.
Are sessions expected to be interactive?
Yes. Empower KM strongly encourages interactive, participatory sessions. Speakers are invited to incorporate discussion, audience engagement, reflection activities, or hands-on elements rather than delivering lecture-style presentations.
Will a slide template be provided?
No. Speakers are welcome to use their own slide templates and branding.
Will technical support be available?
Yes. Technical support will be available during the event to assist with presentations, audio, and connectivity.
